Example: Devised Theatre: Collaborative Creation for the Stage
This workshop explores the dynamic and collaborative art of devised theatre, where original performance work is created by the ensemble rather than starting from a pre-written script. Through a blend of improvisation, movement, writing, and ensemble-building exercises, students will investigate contemporary themes, develop storytelling techniques, and experiment with theatrical form. Emphasis will be placed on collaboration, creativity, and risk-taking as students generate and shape material from personal narratives, current events, visual prompts, and physical exploration. The course culminates in a public presentation of an original ensemble-devised piece.
Open to actors, writers, directors, dancers, and anyone interested in innovative theatre-making. No prior experience required.
